Privacy policy
Last updated July 20, 2026. This page describes the data used by the App Village website.
Analytics
App Village uses Firebase Analytics to understand whether a storefront was visible, whether app details were viewed, which village route was selected, and whether an App Store link was clicked.
App Village does not intentionally send names, email addresses, ghost coordinates, or movement paths to Analytics. Advertising storage, ad-user data, and ad personalization are disabled in the site's Analytics configuration.
Past-viewer ghosts
The interactive village can save an anonymous, shortened movement route so later visitors can see recent paths. The shared route record contains timestamps and map points; it is configured to stop appearing after 24 hours and is not sent as a developer Analytics event.
Shared route storage uses Firebase anonymous authentication and Cloud Firestore. A small number of recent routes may also be kept in your browser's local storage so the experience can continue if shared storage is unavailable.
Local preferences and outgoing links
The site may use local storage for the field-guide display preference and recent local ghost routes. When you follow an App Store link, Apple receives the request under Apple's own privacy terms.
